CrowonBranch2

I am taking down the Halloween/Samhain decorations, enjoying being outside.  The night before, the weather was beautiful for lighting a candle, some incense, listening to the wind whisper through the trees while pulling faery/fairy cards for the coming year. I asked out loud, which cards should I use and I heard, “Faery.” When I do readings, I have options of faery, angels, Celtic tree cards or a few others I like and have used for a long time.

Sitting out on our new porch drinking coffee, a large crow decided to sit on a branch close by and go on and on about something. I asked him if he had something to say to me or a message. I decided to look up his medicine lore and even while sitting here doing that, he came back several times and seemed to be screaming at me to listen to him! I tried to get a picture of him, but each time he would fly away. Hmmm. I am now very curious of his message. I have heard that many believe Crow is an omen of death or ill health. I tend to believe that old folklore seemed to always think black animals were bad, negative or signified death or illness. For me, I do not believe that “black” means that at all, no more than white or any other color. I do think black depicts darkness which stirs mystery, the unknown, things not seen and so on, so perhaps that’s why people generalize black animals, clothing, etc as “of the darkness” and not good or evil.

I believe Crow is the bringer of magic and curiosity, since they themselves are very curious. They steal items they like and build a home with them or stash them where they go often. For Crow to show up for me today makes sense, because I am working to reinvent myself a bit and do more magical things in my life. My body; my health, has kept me from too many things I love to do. I did not even come outside last year into nature, under the trees and do my Celtic New Year ending intentions; burning my list and asking for guidance. This is something I have done for a long time and to feel physically too ill to do it, made me sad. Perhaps Crow is telling me it is time. Time to get back to the old ways I love so much and practice them more in my daily life. I have felt the lack of balance in my life for some time and I have let it bother me too much. I am the only one that can make the decision to change my life and not allow what has been getting in my way, causing me to not live the life I want and need. For me, last night and today are very important, marking a new beginning, one I desire greatly. Just now, as I write this, a big wind came and it’s blowing leaves everywhere! That’s a great sign for me to listen and follow the winds of change! I have even been emotional lately, when I think of the seasons of our lives and when I look out at the lovely trees all around where I live. I thrive on nature and wildlife. I can feel the changes occurring in me, all stirred up and wanting to come busting out. I will not tell you all the things happening in my life now or recently that keep me from doing what I want to do, but as I tell others, they are not excuses they just are the way it is for now, and life is something we work through, not around. We must have patience with ourselves, loving ourselves when we need love, especially when we feel others do not understand or when everyone is working on themselves and their own path, we just have to do the best we can and keep moving forward.

For me, I am committing to doing more of what I love and enjoy. Doing what helps me heal and makes me feel good. I am making more jewelry for my online stores, writing more, spending more time at home and I note that our home is being remodeled so that is something that makes me happier. I do not hold in my feelings, at my age, but I do my best to be kind and loving. I try not to use the excuse of physical pain and I pray and ask for guidance on what to do next to help my healing come sooner than later, due to a huge amount of pain. I have not yet met or found the doctors or the treatment that is right for me, so I am looking forward to this all happening, soon. Crow just might be telling me to hang in there, keep faith and keep believing, it is all being worked on, even when I cannot always see it and when I have days when I just want to stay in bed; I have things to do!

Here is the part of Crow’s Medicine I found to resonate most with me:

(You can read more at the link I shared at the bottom of the page.)

Crow is also the guardian of ceremonial magic and healing. In any healing circle, Crow is present. Crow guides the magic of healing and the change in consciousness that will bring about a new reality and dispel “dis-ease” or illness. You can rest assure when ever crows are around, magic is near by and you are about to experience a change in consciousness. Crow can give you the courage to enter the darkness of the void, which is the home of all that is not yet in form.
If you have a crow as a totem, you need to be willing to walk your talk and speak your truth. You must put aside your fear of being a voice in the wilderness and “caw” the shots as you see them. Crow is an omen of change. If he keeps appearing to you he may be telling you that you have a powerful voice when addressing issues that you do not quite understand or feel that they are out of balance.
Crows are the bringer of messages from the spirit world, and is thought to dwell beyond the realm of time and space.
When you meet crow, he could be telling you that there will be changes in your life and that possibly you should step by the usual way you view reality and look into the inner realms …walk your talk… be prepared to let go of your old thinking and embrace a new way of viewing yourself and the world.

OldBigOak

I was a good thought, planted with love and nurtured, many years ago. I have grown and seen many things in my lifetime; the sunshine, the rain, families come and go, the changing of history. I have seen many storms, but have also heard birds sing. I have seen war and peace, love and hate. I remember when the skies were clearer with less noise. I could see the mountains and smell water. I continued to grow, learn and love, think and share. I have a purpose. I am not sure how long I have lived, perhaps hundreds of years. I have been home to wildlife and shade for others. I can no longer smell fresh air, see the mountains and there is so much noise all around me. No one stops to just sit by me and talk anymore. I continue to do what I came here to do and do it with love and a watchful eye. I have so many stories to tell. I am a beautiful old wise oak tree and today, I died. I was cut down to build a house in my place, or yet another road or city, instead of being left to continue my life, sharing clean air, shade, beauty and loving energy. My roots went deep and my branches reached out to the sun; a child of Mother Earth. Even trees can die naturally once they have lived a good long, happy life filled with memories. I had a purpose and each seedling after me will have a purpose too. Please remember the trees and let them live. Thank you.

SNAKE~ Awakening dormant energies and unlocking hidden knowledge, Snake brings spiritual transformation and heals through change. From “Animals Teachings,” by Dawn Brunke.

Several weeks ago…

I woke in the morning from a dream that had snakes in it. When I was going out the door that day to Water/Physical Therapy, I said out loud to the Universe, “Ok, I know I’m going to have a snake come to me with a message soon; I welcome it.” I know snake lore, medicine and magic tells us of change, shedding our skins, health and healing, transformations and earth energy. I’ve been going through a lot of physical changes for the last couple of years, so change is welcome in many areas. Just this year I’ve been working hard to heal my body and release pain.

Maybe I didn’t welcome it as well as I could have, because while sitting in my living room on the couch last week, talking on the phone, I saw something under my dining room chair. We have light oak wood floors and I thought it was a string or thread. I watched it and finally saw it move! I said out loud, “not again!” At least this time it was a tiny one, (a Ringneck Snake) but I still didn’t want it in my house! I grabbed a handicap gripper tool, that helps pick up things, and tried to get the snake with that. The snake was very small, a baby I figured, but I didn’t know what kind. (at the time) I heard on a television show that some newly hatched poisonous snakes can be more potent than adults snakes, so I wanted to be careful, plus, I didn’t want to hurt it. I didn’t get a picture of it because I was home alone and I just wanted it out of the house! Once before, I had a Black Racer Snake show up in my bedroom coming from the window sill onto my night stand. Another minute and it would have been on my bed and I was laying in it! I have no idea how it got into our house but I was so afraid I ran and shut the door! I was on the phone that time too, lol, with the same person, my husband! Luckily the snake was moving slower because we had the air conditioning on. When he got home we caught it and tossed it out the window where it quickly slithered away to its home. I didn’t sleep in our bedroom for at least a week! *smile*

I’ve had snake come to me several times in the last ten or so years and probably most of my life in one way or another.  Each time, in dreams first, then in person. I felt strongly these were always messages for me. I sought information to learn what snakes message was. Before snake, sister spider came too. I’ve had many insects and animals come to me with messages and insight on what path to take or what to pay attention to.

For now, I know I’m going through some big transformations inside and out. Perhaps I’m shedding my old skin and getting a newer, tougher one. Heaven knows, these days I need a tougher skin to deal with so much negative energy. I need to have a good shield of love, while protecting my heart, mind and spirit from all the ignorance flying around these days. So many people are not using common sense, love and common decency and I’m doing my best to refrain from falling into the pit of despair and anger while still expressing myself and sharing messages I’m being given from SpiritGod and higher wisdom through many means all around me. So yes, I welcome messages from my animal spirit helpers, guides, angels and more.

This is a webpage with pictures of the snake that came in the house, this time. http://srelherp.uga.edu/snakes/diapun.htm~

A Moment with Mysti~ January 26, 2014

I’m a home-body. I like being home. I tell myself often, that’s ok. Everyone has a purpose and not all of us were meant to travel all over the world with our messages or be in front of huge crowds. Now and then, I wonder why I am the way I am. I don’t single out my imperfections and name them. I take the whole package and know everything is connected. Through pain and joy, I’ve learned so much and I love to learn and welcome it. I also know life isn’t always smooth sailing, we will have ups and downs, but when we’re positive, help others, give unselfishly and be the light we’re here to be, we will find peace. Striving to be love is how we invite love and peace into our lives.

Today I baked cranberry orange pecan bread while taking pictures of deer just past our backyard fence. I enjoyed spending the day with some of the guys in my life, my husband, son and grandson and of course our dogs and birds. I did some laundry, computer work and hey, the cold temperatures outside don’t bother me as long as I’m home. *smile*

Peace and love, Fran~Mysti

The Little Tree

Once upon a time there was a little tree on a hillside. There were other trees not very far away, just along the forests edge. The little tree grew straight and each year the farmer would trim its branches back along with all the other trees, and tell them how beautiful they were.

Spiritual Pathways LoveNote~

For your Weekend~

September 25, 2010

by Mystiblu/Fran Hafey

The Bee and the Ant

The bee said to the ant, “lets have some fun, its the weekend and we deserve it!” They found the nearest picnic, ate lots of food and had fun instead of working all the time. They laid around on the grass watching the clouds go by and realized, “there’s a time for everything in life if we choose wisely.”

When we don’t take time for ourselves, we may become workers where everyone is the same, not being unique and creating our own niche in life. We may feel unappreciated and feel like all we do is work and never have any fun. We may feel our dreams are not coming true because we don’t really take time to work on them or step forward in the right direction.

The moral is: Yes, ants and bees have their jobs. They work hard and for them there is a way they do things and it works for them, because they’re insects. But, we’re humans and we can choose to take time to have fun, do what we enjoy and to just be. (be, not bee, no pun intended)

Affirmation for the weekend: I will do my best to enjoy life, to take moments to just be and appreciate the moments. I will stop and see what I have around me, be grateful, sit still and create peace within me. The dishes will still be there, the vaccuming, the car needing to be washed or fixing that gutter, but for right now, this moment, I will just sit, close my eyes and feel peace. THEN, I will feel even better when I know there are chores that need to be done because now I can do them with JOY!

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Peace, blessings and just be~

Every Day Should Be Earth Day
by Fran Hafey/Mystiblu

Here in Virginia, USA, April 22 is recognized as Earth Day. That date has always had a special significance for me also for a few reasons. One… I love the earth and I love helping her and all living things. I do my best to keep her clean, healthy and beautiful and teach others how they can do the same. Also, the 23rd is my only son’s Birthday. We’ve always enjoyed celebrating both Earth day and his Birthday the same weekend since he was small. We started when he was very young, teaching him how to respect the earth and treat her right, by organic gardening, teaching him not to litter, showing him how to pick up trash, even if he didn’t throw it out, recycling and planting trees, taking used car oil to the proper places to be dumped, conserving water and also conserving all kinds of energy and not being wasteful. Those are just a few of the things we helped him and his sisters learn and that we do as a family. We learned a lot together and we’ve always been a family that learned how to respect the earth and other living things. Now we teach our Grandchildren and my children are helping to teach them too!

I would like for everyone to envision in their minds and/or write on a piece of paper and speak it out loud everyday, a few times a day … making it our mantra and affirmation,  that we will all work together in creating harmony and peace throughout the world. We need to believe that gas prices have come down so people can afford to live and that food prices have come down so people can afford to eat. I’m asking that you do something everyday to help everyone. Do your best to see these things as already done!! Being positive makes a huge difference!!

We all need to think about Mother Earth, our families, our neighbors all over the world, our children, Grandchildren and those to come and their future and the future of the world. When we have to pay these outrageous prices for gas, we all know it takes money from somewhere else, like food out of the mouths of the children and money for bills, mortgages, rent, car payments, medications and necessities. Some people seem to be getting more and more wasteful these days and this needs to change. People need to become much more conscious of what’s happening and how it can be changed. Continuing to use gas and oil just makes the oil misers and tycoons richer and greedier and that’s not giving them the message we need to be sending them. We need to be telling them “We’re not going to do this anymore, we’ve found a better way!!” Not believing everything we see and hear also helps tremendously!

Here are some things WE can all do to help conserve our natural resources and help the Earth and all living things upon her:

1) Walk… don’t drive as much.
2) Ride a bike or go green! Look into the hybrid cars and cars that use less gas!
3) Carpool. Double and triple up when driving to work or to do errands.
4) Try and plan your outings and errands so that you can do more than just one or two.
5) Keep your automobiles tuned up and running smooth so they don’t use as much oil or gas.
6) Don’t just assume everyone else is going to cut back… if we all cut back, we’ll all see a difference!
7) Drive slower and you’ll not only see a difference in your gas gauge but also in the amount of dead animals on the roads.
8) Plan ahead. When we’re prepared, we don’t make as many mistakes. When we know correct directions we conserve on gas by not driving around looking for the right street or address. When picking people up, tell them to be ready so you don’t have to wait and leave the car running. Knowing ahead of time what to expect, if possible, can help in these types of situations.
9) Stay home! Wow, there’s a novel idea. Stay home instead of going out. Spend time at home with the family or choose one weekend a month not to go out, but to stay home and conserve on gas and oil and maybe even dedicate that weekend to doing something really cool like separate your recyclables or pick up trash, give away those clothes you’ve been meaning to get rid of or fix your bike, plant a tree, have a yard sale, or plan an activity that doesn’t call for using anything that causes pollution, but uses our own energy and human power! How about finding out where there’s a local group teaching about Solar, Hydro and Wind Re-useable and Sustainable Energy so we don’t have to keep digging up our Natural Parks and beautiful forests and land.
First we can learn in our own homes, then we can share it with the world!
10) Grow your own food! Organic gardening’s great and it’s not hard! Even in pots for small spaces! (See my article here) http://Mystickblue.homestead.com/EveryDayShouldBeEarthDay.html

11) Check out
http://www.Freecycle.org today!
12) Go Green, go Solar, wind, and water/hydro energy! It’s renewable and can save with Global warming and energy!
13) Use appliances and bulbs that use less energy!
14) You’ve heard recycle, reduce, reuse and renewable, the four R’s!
15) Find out the facts! Find out where your produce and foods are coming from. Find out information about how you can help your community plant trees, grow plants that help clean the air, teach the generations to come how they can help our home our planet to be a safer, cleaner place to live! Help each other and show love and compassion for all living beings and things!! Pass it on!!

Of course, we all have things to do and places to go and we will need to use our cars to get there. I’m just asking that people become more aware of what they’re doing and what they’re using and how much and when. It’s so important for us to be educated and for the politicians to also know that we have knowledge and a brain and a voice too! The earth is our home and that means for everyone, not just for a select few. We’re all human beings, but everyone knows the truth is, we’re not all on the same level and we’re not all treated the same, but we do all breathe and need to  eat, and we need to sleep and we need this earth to do this on, and if we don’t all wake up and begin to work together and not apart, to begin using other natural resources that don’t cause pollution, illness and death, then there will be no reason to be here any longer.

So, yes… everyday should be earth day because the earth depends on us, just as much as we depend on the earth. The earth cannot be taken for granted and she’s beginning to show us in many ways… that she will not be! Wake up my friend and begin to speak your heart and even if you begin small by just saying NO to just one thing, in the beginning… then perhaps others will say no too and then our message will be heard that we are what we say we are! We are people on this earth that believe in what’s right and what’s just and when we stand together, what then can we not do?!

Today, tomorrow and every day, begin by sending love, light and peace to one another and to our earth. Let’s create harmony on our earth and let’s begin by taking care of her and taking care of ourselves and you’ll then see how it will spread everywhere. Ohhh, it may take some time and you may not believe it at first, but even the small miracles are blessings. Each butterfly, each sunrise and snowflake, each newborn cry and old mans smile is a miracle in itself and we must count our blessings and continue to believe.

Everyday is Earth day. Do you believe?~

I send you love, laughter, peace, joy & harmony,

Mysti/Fran
