A Season of Love Message~12-20-11~Counting My Blessings~

December 20, 2011

A Season of Love Message for Tuesday:  Today, I am counting my blessings… especially after last week! I didn’t get to write my bi-weekly, “Season of Love,” messages because of how interesting life can be, taking us up and down like a roller coaster!

Last Sunday, I sat in the Emergency waiting room, while my husband was taken back with his bloody right index finger, what was left of it, after his hand had been pulled into a wood-splitter. I sat to myself, with my cell phone, because when I have time to just sit quietly, I always take those moments to go within. I sat talking quietly, and within, to SpiritGod and all my helpers, which consist of angels, guides and others. I knew the severity of my husband’s injury, but I found comfort in, that he still had his finger and hand and it definitely could have been worse. I knew everything would be all right, no matter what. I let some of my closest friends know what happened and kept my son up to date, because he had been there when it happened. He said he felt it was his fault, but it wasn’t. He’d been helping with splitting the wood and it was no one’s fault. My husband’s finger is a mess, but it is healing and I want to thank everyone for sending their love, energy and healing for him. He sees a hand specialist today and we’re hoping for the best.

I love how life is so interesting. Life is good, isn’t it?

If that wasn’t enough for us to deal with, my husband and I got food poisoning. We have no idea from what, but we were both very sick. Things took their course and it took me one more day to recover than him. We had an important party/awards ceremony for the Vietnam Veterans of America to go to the next day.  I wanted to go and be with my husband and see our friends and take part. It’s amazing how much we humans can handle and just keep going. We made it to the party and had a great time!

We had a few other things happen, but I’ll save those for another time, another story.

So today, I am grateful for healing love, my husband, my friends, doctors and nurses and so much more. The list is quite long and when I need a lift or a smile, I just have to remember what I’m grateful for and how interesting life is and it really helps me to smile and keep moving forward!

Peace, Fran~Mysti~

P.S. This is the last “Season of Love” message for this week, due to the Holidays. I will resume next week!! Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Yule!!

A Season of Love Message~12-9-11~Life is Wonderful!~

December 9, 2011

A Season of Love Message for Friday:  Today, I want to reflect on how wonderful life is… with you and me in it! Each day is a new opportunity, a gift to each of us, to make a difference in our lives and in the world! In the movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” George got a taste of what life would be like if he had never been born. The story took him down a scary road, but showed him how every person is connected and affects our lives, just as we affect others too. He learned a valuable life lesson and was given a second chance! Scrooge, in the movie, “A Christmas Carol,” was also shown, how life could have been different if he’d had a more positive attitude and been giving and loving, instead of greedy and mean. Another, “not so nice” picture for him too, that led him to waking up to new opportunities and chances to create joy and make life better! Every day is an opportunity to create changes and make life better!

There are so many ways we can make a positive difference in the world today, but it needs to begin now. We only have this moment and we can try and put off until tomorrow, but why not now or today? Take this moment to do something positive that will create a ripple effect in our world. Sit down and write out a list of things you can do now, today, tomorrow and every day for the rest of your life! It’s easy to be more positive, but it can take practice for some. Change that negative thought or action into a positive thought and positive action! When it comes from your heart, then it can begin to flow. You will begin to see and feel a big difference! It all begins within you, to be positive and pass it on each day to create a, “Wonderful Life!”

Peace & joy, Fran~Mysti~

A Season of Love Message~12-5-11~The Best Gift of All~

December 5, 2011

A Season of Love Message for Monday:  Today, I will think of gifts I can give to people that have deeper meaning in them than just to make someone happy for a few minutes. Do you give gifts that are well thought out, that give longer than a few minutes or a few days? When giving from the heart, we can be even more creative when giving gifts, even “re-gifting” a gift that is something close to our hearts that we know will feel the same for someone else we love. The true meaning of the Holidays isn’t to try and buy everything on someone’s list, but to create a happy, warm feeling in the heart that will last a lot longer than just through the New Year! Today I will take time to think about giving gifts that have deeper meaning and feeling to them and give from my heart with love.

So often, people will tell us, what they want for the Holidays. I used to ask and try to give gifts people on my list needed or wanted, which made them happy and me too. As the years have gone by and I’ve enjoyed many Holidays as a child, adult, Mother and Nana, I’ve been changing my views on gift giving and receiving. I love the surprise in the beautifully wrapped gifts under the tree, but sometimes when we get older, the surprise and magic seems to fade. It doesn’t have to. We can keep the fun, the surprise and magic in the Holidays by giving gifts that are well thought out, fun, cheerful and even by “re-gifting” something we’ve enjoyed and loved, to someone that will also enjoy, love and appreciate them. Sometimes no gift is good, when we get to spend time with those we love and just share good food, conversation, laughs and good times! When we give gifts because we’re sharing love and joy, we don’t need to expect a gift back from those we give to, it’s in giving from the heart that’s so important, that creates the true joy for the holidays!

A gift from the heart, no matter how expensive it is or even if it didn’t cost anything in monetary value, is always the best gift because it truly means the most. Think about it. What gift can you give that’s from the heart and not just from your pocket? I’m sure whatever gift you give, when you give it with love and from your heart, it’s the best gift of all!

 Blessings, peace & joy, Fran~Mysti~

A Season of Love Message~12-2-11~Holiday Spirit~

December 2, 2011

A Season of Love Message for Friday:  Today is a good day to make some plans to do something new for the Holidays. Many of us hold close to traditions and things we did during the holidays when we were growing up. Maybe you put up the tree at a certain time, made cookies or goodies and shared them with neighbors, began wrapping gifts early or had a special ornament to hang on the tree. Starting a new tradition or trying something new could be fun for you and your family and friends. Why not make cookies together, go to a tree lighting ceremony, drive around looking at all the holiday decorations, invite someone to dinner, send a card or gift to a soldier who’s protecting our freedom, go caroling or do something totally new that you’ve never done before! How exciting it is to try something new, share the joy of the h0lidays, get out of the old routine and surprise some family and friends. It’s always good to share some cheer and joy, even when the holidays are over!!

For me, the holidays are a mixed bag of emotions. I love the sparkling lights, the excitement about Santa coming, the mystery, the joy, the music, the food, remembering old times, good times and creating some new memories. My emotions tend to go up and down when I look back over the years and also think about how things are in the now. I love the old stories, the nostalgia, when times were different, less hectic, more meaningful and simple. I do my best to keep some of the traditions that are close to my heart in my routine, but it’s always good to do something different and new too.

One of the biggest things I tend to get on a soapbox about this time of year, is how I wish everyone had the holiday spirit all year round. We may not keep our tree up all year long, but we need to keep the spirit of love, kindness, giving, joy, peace and light, within us and in our actions 365 days a year. We need to keep it a live all the time! Yes, the holidays are special and this is a time to celebrate, rejoice, show gratitude, share, love one another, give from our hearts and put up decorations, bake good foods and hold close to our hearts our traditions to be a part of it all.

We can make a choice today, to do something new but also hold onto the loving traditions of old. There are so many gifts we can give that don’t go under the tree, but show our love every day of the year!

Peace, Fran~Mysti~
